For over ten years, the University of Yaoundé II in Cameroon and the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) have offered an intensive Master's Program in Intellectual Property (IP), in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and funding from the Government of Japan. Since the 2020 edition, EUIPO and subsequently, AfrIPI have contributed to this programme by delivering lectures on key aspects of IP law, research and practice.

On the 10th and 11th of May 2023, four EUIPO experts delivered lectures to the over 30 students of the Master's Program who come from across the OAPI region. Lectures included: The Presentation of the Madrid System and the Hague Agreement, A presentation of the TM class and TM view tools, and assessing the risks of confusion in opposition proceedings.

This programme is a component of Activity 20 Expert support for the OAPI Master’s training programme of AfrIPI’s Annual Work Plan 3, which is also being provided to ARIPO Member States since 2021.
