Consultative roundtable on enforcement of IPR for North African countries
Tunis, Tunisia
The Intellectual Property Rights and Innovation in Africa (AfrIPI) and the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI France) are organising from 12 to 14 September 2023 in Tunis, a regional seminar dedicated to the fight against counterfeiting, for the benefit of decision-makers and regulatory authorities, holders of intellectual property rights (IPR), and actors involved in the enforcement of these rights in North Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Algeria).
Counterfeit goods represent an imminent threat to development. A trend for increasing proliferation of counterfeit and illegal goods (ranging from medicine and food to pesticides) has been observed in North African markets. The related socio-economic impacts coupled with the health and environmental concerns of counterfeit and illegal goods justify the need to put in place a strong action against such criminal activity.
