Front Office implemented in Uganda

On 26 October 2021, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) implemented the software
package for online trade mark applications, known as Front Office.

The implementation of Front Office by URSB is a concrete result of the EU funded project called
Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) Action for Africa (AfrIPI), which is directed by the European
Commission and executed by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

URSB is the first IP office under the AfrIPI project to implement Front Office and worldwide there are
now two IP offices outside the EU operating with Front Office.

Front Office offers all URSB’s users to file their trade mark applications online following a similar,
intuitive process and graphical user interface as the Front Office solutions implemented by other EU
and non-EU IP offices.
