On 27 to 29 September 2022, a consultative workshop to support the reform of the legislative framework for protecting copyright and related rights took place in Equatorial Guinea. This event took place as a follow-up of the consultative workshop to support the establishment of a structure for the collective management of copyright and related rights was held on March 25 and 26, 2022 in Equatorial Guinea.
The main objective of this activity was to support the revision of the copyright law and the establishment of a structure for the collective management of copyright and related rights in Equatorial Guinea.
The awareness-raising workshop was organised in collaboration with OAPI and the Council for Scientific and Technological Research of Equatorial Guinea (CICTE).
It provided a platform to:

support proposals on the new legislation on copyright in Equatorial Guinea;

contribute to supporting and harmonising African intellectual property rights (IPRs) policies;

improve networks and tools;

provide training to national and regional IP institutions as well as MSME's, and civil society on IPRs, including geographical indications.
