From 17 to 25 February 2024, AfrIPI and the Africa IP SME Helpdesk participated in the ninth International Trade Fair for Business, SMEs and Partnerships in Yaoundé (PROMOTE), Cameroon. The trade fair welcomes companies from Cameroon, Africa, and the rest of the world to showcase their services, broaden their networks, and position themselves as major players in their respective fields.

The aim of this year’s edition was to enable institutions and businesses to forge technical and financial partnerships, improve positioning in their circles of activity, distinguish themselves from the competition, access new markets, and initiate business opportunities that will boost development.

Apart from exhibiting and interacting with guests at PROMOTE, AfrIPI also participated in high-level events such as the first edition of the Cameroon-European Union Business Week. The theme was ‘Seizing investment and business opportunities in Cameroon’. The event, organised beyond the trade fair, gathered public and private sector stakeholders from Cameroon and the European Union, to review the multi-faceted and long-standing cooperation between the two partners. It took place from 20 – 22 February 2024 in Yaoundé and was attended by high-ranking officials, amongst them the EU INTPA Counsellor Hors Echelle, Mr Henrik Hololei who took part in the panel discussions, business meetings, and the launch of the ‘Investing in Young Businesses in Africa’ project.

AfrIPI exhibited in the EUROVILLAGE, together with the European Union Delegation in Cameroon, the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) and other EU and GIZ sponsored projects.

AfrIPI used the PROMOTE platform to create awareness, network with other organisations, and present the services of the Africa IP SME Helpdesk to visitors of the AfrIPI.
