Expert support for the ARIPO Master’s training programme
The African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), are delivering a comprehensive Intellectual Property (IP) Master’s Programme in English to three universities in Africa: Africa University (AU) in Zimbabwe, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) in Tanzania.
The 2023/2024 Master’s Programme encompasses distance learning, face-to-face lectures, research work, internships, and a final examination. In addition, some modules in the distance learning programme will be delivered by the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on relevant topics to be decided by ARIPO and the EUIPO.
In addition, the programme coordinators from the three universities will undertake a study visit to the University of Alicante to learn more about the program structure and content, as well as to develop community-of-practice networks.
Under the AfrIPI project, the EU will offer support with hardware, providing smartboards to KNUST and the UDSM university campuses to facilitate the delivery of online lectures. For its part, AU received the smartboard in 2022.
