Support for IPOs in digitalising and improving the quality of data

This activity must be implemented in collaboration with WIPO and ideally will count on support of the relevant regional organisations (OAPI and ARIPO). The initiative was presented by AfrIPI during the WIPO technical workshop for Heads of IP offices of ARIPO MSs, on 27 and 28 November, in Botswana.

For this activity, AfrIPI will use a similar approach as the digitalisations proposed in Nigeria and Mauritius, but it will try to go further and define a minimal level of data quality, to be evaluated after considering the data quality KPIs used at the EU level.

The activity can start with an online workshop, during which it will be presented in the regional general meetings. The relevant offices will review the proposed minimum quality KPIs and request the support of AfrIPI in implementing this activity while committing to deliver data to TMView and DesignView.

Capacity building could also be provided to the IPOs technical staff, upon request.
