Support the registration of pilot GI in Mozambique

The activity will focus on finalising a prospective study on the selected GI. The idea will be to prepare the actors and products for the GI and to facilitate the smooth submission of an application to the IP office in Mozambique.

In addition, under AWP4 Act.3, AfrIPI in close cooperation with WIPO will support Mozambique in its intentions to accede to the Geneva Act, by facilitating an online seminar of the WIPO Lisbon system and by assisting the authorities in the drafting of their instrument of ratification.

Moreover, under the AWP4 Activity ‘GI awareness’, AfrIPI will translate the existing Africa GI manual and GI leaflet into Portuguese and disseminate it to the relevant actors in Mozambique.
