Support the registration of pilot GIs in Mauritius

From 21-23 August 2024, AfrIPI, the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade and the Industrial Property Office of Mauritius (IPOM) will collaborate on a significant initiative to strengthen Mauritius’ sugar geographical indication (GI) status.

The main focus of this activity is to finalise a prospective study on the GI status of Mauritius sugar. The objective is to equip stakeholders and products for the GI, facilitating a smooth application submission to the IP office in Mauritius. This collaborative effort underscores the commitment to strengthening the GI status of Mauritius sugar, a crucial step towards enhancing its global recognition and market value.
