AfrIPI participates in the first EU-Niger Business Forum

The first EU-Niger Business Forum was held in Niamey, Niger, from 7-8 February 2023 at the Mahatma Gandhi International Conference Centre.

The EU-Niger Business Forum aims to enhance quality investments, make Niger more appealing to private investors and fortify ties between the EU and Niger. The Forum was the most significant business gathering in Niger’s economic history. It was held in honour of the financiers, bankers, and government representatives who support Niger's economic growth and development.

Discussions at this regional hybrid forum centred on pressing issues, such as, agriculture, livestock, renewable energy, new technology, infrastructure, mining/oil, and crafts, by a variety of inspiring speakers who shared their experiences with participants.

During the ‘Intellectual Property for SMEs in Africa’ panel, the AfrIPI IP rights enforcement expert, Wéré  Palouki Gazaro, discussed the AfrIPI project, the Africa IP SME Helpdesk and gave a presentation on Intellectual Property for business in the OAPI region’.

Over 400 Nigerien, European and subregional  companies, economic decision makers , politicians and investment experts participated in the different sessions and exhibition space at the event.
