Restitution workshop to facilitate the registration of GIs at the national level for OAPI countries: Mauritania

Two restitution workshops aiming to facilitate the registration of functional and sustainable GIs in the OAPI region were organised in Comoros and Gabon in collaboration with OAPI and the respective EU Delegations.

• ylang-ylang – Comoros (15 September);
• pierre de Mbigou – Gabon (18 October);

From 25 - 27 October 2023, a validation workshop to review the prospective studies proposed by experts held in Yaoundé, Cameroon in the presence of the AfrIPI Project Lead, the Director General of OAPI and the EU Ambassador to Cameroon. The event which was organised by AfrIPI in collaboration with OAPI and the PAMPIG-2 Project, brought together representatives of national GI committees from all OAPI Member States.

On 14 November 2023, a final restitution workshop on the activity will hold in Nouakchott, Mauritania to support the registration of the GI “Poutargue Imraguen”.
